Protecting Community input in the Planning Process - Approved by Council

City Council adopted my motion to provide greater protection for community input in the planning process. Some developers are appealing their applications to the Ontario Land Tribunal before we have an opportunity to hold a community meeting. Once a development application has been appealed to the OLT, there is no longer a requirement for a community meeting – that's what my motion seeks to change.

My motion asks the Province to require any applicant who appeals a planning application for lack of decision to hold a community consultation meeting with City Planning and the local Councillor, at the applicant's expense. You can read my motion here.
