Park Lawn Lake Shore Transportation Master Plan - Adopted By Council

City Council adopted the Park Lawn Lake Shore Transportation Master Plan. I initiated this study in 2012 to create a comprehensive transportation plan for the Humber Bay Shores community.

After hearing some concerns from the community, I moved a motion asking to revise the phasing strategy for the lane reductions on Park Lawn Road to better coordinate with the implementation of other north/south connections coming to the community – such as the Legion Road Extension or the new North-South Street outlined in the TMP.

I also moved a motion asking staff to undertake a Neighbourhood Mobility Plan for the Humber Bay Shores neighbourhood, as well as the primary route through Sunnylea connecting the Queensway to Bloor Street along Park Lawn Road/Prince Edward Drive South. Staff will report back next Spring with an update on any appropriate traffic calming measures and any other operational improvements to address pedestrian and cyclist safety, cut through traffic, and excessive speeding. This is similar to the study being undertaken in Mimico that I launched in 2018.

I want to thank everyone in our community who helped to shape this plan through the years of consultation and study. You can read more about this plan here. You can watch the discussion at City Council here.
