Rick Leary Acting Chief Executive Officer Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)
Re: Proposed Mimico GO shuttle bus operations
Dear Mr. Leary,
I am writing to you regarding the proposed Mimico GO shuttle bus pilot project, which I asked the TTC to study after requests from residents in my community. I appreciate the efforts made by TTC staff to expedite this request in order to help residents more easily access Mimico GO station and their subsequent destinations.
I know that this proposed route faces unique constraints due to the need to meet the scheduled Mimico GO train departure times.
In response to concerns I have heard from residents, I kindly request that the TTC investigate alternatives to the use of Mimico Avenue for the proposed shuttle bus route.
I also ask that TTC identify any opportunities to minimize the impacts of current bus operations on residences, daycares and schools on Mimico Avenue. I also request that the TTC study opportunities to extend the proposed shuttle route east of Park Lawn Road to better serve the residents of Humber Bay Shores; as well as removing stops with limited ridership approaching the GO station.
Your consideration regarding the aforementioned matters is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Councillor Mark Grimes
