Beginning this morning, traffic assistance personnel will be on-site at Lake Shore and Park Lawn to help improve the flow of traffic. This is part of a pilot program that is dispatching traffic personnel at eight key "traffic hot spots" across the city. You can read more about it in this article here.
This is a pilot project that will run for four weeks in the summer, and four weeks in the fall.
In January of this year, I wrote to Mayor Tory asking that Park Lawn and Lake Shore be included in his list of "traffic hot spots" across the city.
This area is in a traffic crisis, and short and long-term solutions are a necessity. While I understand that this situation cannot be fixed overnight, I believe this measure is a small step in the right direction for our community.
