The temporary traffic signals that were installed at 42nd Street and Lake Shore to manage the diversion of trail traffic during bridge construction, were removed on October 5th 2015. This news came as a surprise to my office and I immediately contacted the appropriate staff at Transportation Services to determine how to resolve this matter. I also spoke with senior level staff who have assured me that this lack of communication will not happen again in the future.
I moved a motion (read here) at November's Etobicoke York Community Council to request that an emergency traffic study be conducted to determine whether lights were warranted at the location they were removed. The study was performed and it was determined that signals lights are in fact warranted at this location. As a result, permanent signals will be installed at 41st Street and Brow Drive.
In the meantime, I will be requesting that temporary signals are installed until the permanent signals are connected.

Thank you for your patience and I apologize for any inconvenience.
