SUMMARY:
The 6th Annual Lakeshore Mardi Gras Festival is a wonderful event that promotes and encourages the Etobicoke – lakeshore community and residents of Toronto to come out and meet their neighbours while participating in the many activities. The Festival is organized in co-operation with the Lakeshore Mardi Gras Committee.
The 6th Annual Lakeshore Mardi Gras Festival is seeing, on behalf of the organizers and participants, a special occasion permit under the Community Festival section of the Ontario Liquor Licence Act:
According to Section 40 of the Regulations of the Ontario Liquor Licence Act, and application for a special occasion permit for an event that is a community festival has to be approved the local Council for the Municipality in which the event is to occur.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That Etobicoke York Community Council deem the 6th Annual Lakeshore Mardi Gras Festival to be an event of municipal and/or Community significance, and to advise the Alcohol and Gamin Commission of Ontario that it has no objection to this event.
